Ode to my Country pt.2

Hi dolls, today is my countries , National Flag and National Anthem day. so i decided to do another Ode to my country post .

i know my Blog is a fashion blog, but i have to dedicate a piece of my time and blog to my Country,born and raised and proud to say it. in order to know where you are going its important to be aware of your ancestry and where you are from. i strongly believe that one has to be respectful of there country and the place they where born and raised. because if it wasn't for that country the people and your family, you would not be the person you are today. there for a second Ode to my Country.

Ode to my Country pt.1

Some call it an Island, many don’t even know about it, but I call it home. I am from afro-Caribbean descent, and Curaçao is what I call home, it’s a small island in the Caribbean, a small dot on the globe. My island is very beautiful very green and very brown, the people that live here are open hearted and we call them Yui’Korsou. My home is a melting pot, different cultures wherever you turn, we are hot headed, feisty and creative, we wear our hearts on our sleeves and like every other Caribbean country we love to eat. We are small in kilometers but big at heart, we express our creativity in many different ways. We are art lovers, fashion addicts and masters chefs in our own cuisine. We have Rugged desert coastlines and beautiful bleu colored waters, everywhere you turn you can find Children learning, and laughing

Teens pursuing their passion in dance acting singing or poetry. The days here are breezy and sunny, we are blessed with artist poets and comedians, and for us there’s no such thing as language barrier, and we speak all of them.  But not everything is always turned sunny side up, my country has had its ups and downs, political battles are part of our culture, and crimes are committed here as well. It’s the land of the rich, and the land of the poor.  We love to love and we love to hate, criticism comes hand in hand with the aspects of our culture. But that’s my Curaçao a bit of paradise not far away a poet I am not, but for Curaçao I will give it a shot. It’s not perfect and all is not swell, but no matter how far I travel, no matter the people I meet. Am proud to say that I will forever be a southern carribean belle.

My Curaçao is palette of vibrant colors, and just 2 show you it’s true, here are all my island treasures.

OMG , IF URE A FASHION LOVER THERE'S NO WAY ON EARTH THAT U CANT ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE PRETTY LITTLE LIARS SERIES.

I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES A YEAR AND A HALF AGO , WHEN I STUMBLED ACROSS THE BOOKS OVER AT THE MIAMI AIRPORT ON VACATION. IT LOOKED VERY INTRIGUING SO I DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE FIRST  2 BOOKS. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, A FABULOUS ADDICTION. I WAS EVEN MORE SURPRISED WHEN I FOUND OUT THEY ALSO SELL THE BOOKS LOCALLY. I IMMEDIATLY PURCHASED THE ENTIRE SERIES COLLECTION. WITH EXCEPTION OF THE LAST ADDITION WHICH IS "TWISTED" AM YET TO BUY THAT LAST PIECE OF MY WONDERFUL SERIES.

Mi pais , My Country

My country is a very small place
With a rich history
Rocks, bushes, wind and sea
It’s my island and it’s interesting
With stunning views…
and damaged parts too
And wherever I am…
My country knows about poverty, robbery, disease
and some who sometimes are annoying
It’s my island and it’s impressive
With it’s graceful people
and some who are good-for-nothing
And wherever I am…
I am a bit worried
about my rock, my place
I cannot foresee the future
Don’t know how things will turn out
But in my prayers I ask God
To help us every now and then if he finds the chance
Just to fix some things
And take good care of what is ours
My island is a lovely place
It’s where my umbillical cord for ever lies…
